Here is a simple potion to set a creepy mood this Halloween, Infected Zombie Punch.
Perfect for a Halloween party. You can make either a virgin drink for the kids or a spiked version for the adults. I like to make this punch for Halloween nights. That way the kids can have something fun to drink, and the adults can indulge in a drink or two once trick-or-treating is over.
To start, you will need a few supplies.
- Festive Glasses or Martini Glasses
- Plastic Syringes
- Black and White Straws
- 2 shallow saucers or plates
You will also need some ingredients:
- Green Sanding Sugar
- 2 litre of Ginger Ale
- 2 packets of Lime Kool Aid
- Raspberry Torrani Syrup
- For the spiked version of this drink you will also need some liquor. We found that vodka, gin, rum (stay away from spiced), and even whisky work well.
In a pitcher, mix together the ginger ale and packets of lime Kool Aid. Add liquor, to taste, for the spiked version. Set aside.
Fill plastic syringes with the raspberry syrup.
Put water in one of the shallow saucers, and the green sanding sugar in the other saucer.
Dip the rim of a glass into a shallow saucer of water.
Immediately dip the wet rim of the glass into the saucer that has the green sanding sugar. Twist the glass around a bit to cover the entire rim.
Carefully fill the glasses half way with ice cubes (check out this skull and bones ice cub tray for an extra spooky touch)
Pour the punch into the glass until it is about 3/4 of the way full. This will leave room for the syringe.
Place the full syringe and a black and white straw in your glass and serve. It may be tempting to inject the drink, but let your guests have the pleasure.
To keep the kids and adults drinks separate, try using different types of pitchers, glasses, and straws. The fun thing about this recipe is that it can be customized to however you would like. Tell us, how did your version of Infected Zombie Punch turn out? Ours was to DIE for! Happy Halloween!
